Versatile Uses of Kindle eReader

Though I’ve owned a Kindle reader for long, I’ve never bothered to use it even considering the fact that I’m an avid reader, until I came across these features.
Having come across the below-mentioned features I now use it extensively for my reading purposes & it helps expedite my work.
This article is for both the beginners & also those who have been using for long – it helps you put your Kindle for better use.
For Beginners -
You could

  • Upload documents from your laptop to kindle reader using a kindle cable
Documents that are supportable on Kindle include

3) Send email attached documents to kindle reader just by forwarding the email.
4) Send documents from your Android mobile to Kindle

1) Send documents from your laptop cable-free
You don’t need to have a Kindle cable to send documents from your laptop to your Kindle without using a USB cable.

Install ‘Send to Kindle’ extension, available for chrome and Firefox browsers and select the link in the address bar, and then hit the 'Send to Kindle' extension.
You would be able to view article downloaded on the Kindle device when connected over internet & synced.

3) Send any attached document(s) in an email to your Kindle reader by simply forwarding the email to the ‘Send to Kindle email address’
How to identify one's kindle email address?
To find one's 'Send-to-Kindle e-mail address', log into Amazon website, visit the “Manage your Content & Devices” page, then “Your Devices” in the same page – under which you can find your kindle email address as abcd@kindle.com

Now, having identified kindle email address can one upload the desired document by simply forwarding the email (containing the desired attached document) to the kindle email address?

  • Add one or more email addresses from which you want to send documents to your ‘Send to Kindle email address’
  • Once the above steps are taken care of, now forward the email containing the desired document to be sent to your kindle reader or mobile application, to your ‘Send to Kindle email address’
